Prabowo Considers Middle East Stop Amid Overseas Tour
President Prabowo Subianto, on a global tour since November 8, is considering adding visits to Middle Eastern countries if schedules with Gulf leaders align. While open to expanding his agenda, he has expressed a desire to return home, saying, “I actually want to go home soon.”
His tour has included stops in China, the US, Peru for the APEC Summit, and Brazil for the G20 Summit. In a video message from Brazil, he stated, “I am also trying to stop by the Middle East. We just have to see if the dates are suitable or not.”
The President’s travels aim to strengthen ties with global powers and promote economic cooperation. In Brazil, he attended the Indonesia-Brazil Business Forum, focusing on potential energy, industry, and maritime partnerships.
Ahead of his UK visit, Prabowo reiterated his intention to leverage major summits to advance Indonesia’s international presence. Meetings with UK leaders will focus on economic issues and investment opportunities.
Despite his global engagements, Prabowo emphasized that domestic priorities remain key. “Of course, my focus in the first months, the first years [of my presidency], is to improve the domestic economy,” he said.
